Panasonic Lumix Digital P&S Question? |
My research leads me to believe that these camera's may be the better "high end" P&S cameras. I'm considering the DMC-LX2 or the DMC-TZ5. Anybody have any opinions on these two choices? A third option might be to get the Leica DLux3 I had a panasonic lumix for a while but traded it in for a sony a300 because I was not satisfied with the quality of photos. When i went into the store to trade it in i asked whether there was actually something wrong with the camera or perhaps it just my lack of skills leading to the below average photos. it turns out that panasonics in general have a smaller chip that takes in the light than most other cameras , which basically means that they just dont allow in the same ammount of detail as perhaps another camera might. just thought i'd put this out there. but if you're looking for an easy camera and not too bothered by quality, this is a good cam. The Leica and LX2 are just about the same machine, the Leica has the sexy cache. My chap has the TZ1, his sister the TZ3, and they really do seem to be the best point and shoots on the market. They've all got Leica lenses so the quality there is great. The lenses are a really good size for a p&s too. The zoom on the TZ1 is amazing - 10x optical and when we tested it we actually found it considerably more powerful than the naked eye. I don't know much about the other models you mention, but if the TZ5 follows suit from its predecessors, it would be an excellent investment. i have the dmc-fx7 and it is great |
