I need a camera for good action pics, my kids wrestle and my current camera sucks! Something small.....?

I currently have a Panasonic Lumix and I love it, except for taking wrestling pictures of my boys. Anyone have any ideas for a camera that is fairly inexpensive that would do a better job. I would prefer something small.

All compact digital cameras suffer from some kind of shutter lag, so changing cameras will not really help you that much ... The Panasonic P&S cameras are some of the best and jumping to a different brand that uses different memory card types will only cost you more money.

To get rid of noticable shutter lag you would have to buy a much larger, more expensive DSLR, so try the techniques on the link and let us know if they help any.

Before you buy another camera, figure out what's wrong with your action pictures.

If they're blurry, you need to set the shutter speed at 1/250 or faster to stop action, or use flash. You'll have to do that on any camera.

If the camera is slow to respond to the a press of the shutter, there are ways of improving this. Look in your user guide and pick up a good book on basic digital photography.

If the images are grainy (noisy), all compact cameras have that issue in low light. A DSLR will work much better for you.

Olympus FE-310...As I told another on here who wanted to take pictures of her kids...

This camera is nice. It has image stabilization for shaky days, 5x optical zoom (so you don't have to get right in on the wrestling lol) and the best for your needs, it has a "Kids" scene setting where it tracks where your kids are moving and keeps them in focus still.
