Help on these cameras?

Hey
I am going traveling soon and I need to buy a camera to take decent photos with. I will be taking mostly scenery shops but also group shots and so on. I want it so I can use it for everything basically (even after the holiday). I have been looking at the Panasonic FZ18 and Panasonic TZ5 because of their zoom but I do not know if they are good or not.
So can anyone tell me if they are good and if not can you suggest a camera with good image quality and high zoom please.

When comparing camera zoom, make sure you compare optical zooms and not digital.
Optical zoom and the feature that produces good quality images when zoomed in. optical zoom is actually generated by the lenses while digital is by software and distorts the image.
I would advice canon cameras are best, especially ones with face detection feature. this helps when taking people along with background. The camera adjusts the image to provide clear face and background.

Check out canon website for samples. Never used panasonic camera so cannot help you with that. Sorry.
