I'm thinking about buying this camera tomorrow and want to make sure it is ok, anybody have it? What are the underwater pictures like? I do a lot of snorkelling and hope it does a good job. Hi, I looked at the product on the Pentax web page to know how deep you cold dive with this camera, as I bought a PENTAX Optio S50 with an underwater case, last year. Unfortunately, the case costs the same as the camera itself, but it looks as if it is worth the investment. Only thing, the camera models change so often, so S50 is outdated already, but for me, it takes good pictures and will continue to do so as long as I want.

Let me know. Peter The closest I could find was the Optio W10. It is waterproof to 3 meters. But....and this is a biggie...it sinks! I found one review that wasn't too flattering. Are you serious about getting good underwater photos? If that is the case I think you'll be disappointed. Most of the time you will want to have a flash off camera and to the side so when the flash goes off it doesn't reflect debris in the water.
If you only want to play around on the water's edge and shoot nothing below 10 feet this would probably be OK. If you want anything more look for something else. |
