I dropped my digital camera, a Pentax ISTDS, & now the images come out black on the screen when I take a pic?

I dropped my camera from about only 2 feet up (I was squatting so it was not that high up) onto a carpeted floor. Now when we take pictures the image that comes up black, It focuses and takes the picture but when the picture comes out it is just black. Does anyone know what could cause this and how to fix it? we don't have a camera repair man near us.

The LCD screen does still work, I can choose all menu functions like usual. The pics I take are black and they are saved to the memory card as blacked out pictures. Not sure what could be broken.

Sounds like maybe the flip mirror is stuck, or the sensor has been dislodged. Believe it or not, My wife's K110d experienced the same thing, and all we did to fix it was install new batteries. Marginal batteries can play tricks some times

could you tranfer your pics to your pc and see if the camera ccd still work?

1, could you see sth on the LCD screen? just as you press menu or some button else? if not ,there must be sth wrong with the LCD, maybe the wire connected or the LCD itself

2. if the camera still could take pics as before and you could watch the pics on your PC, then the CCD of the camera is OK, and you need to check the LCD only.
otherwise ,you need to send it to the producor to repair it's CCD
