Which lenses can i use with a pentax k-mount?

the camera i am looking to buy (ricoh kr-5 super ii) uses a pentax k-mount. right now, it has a panagor 35-100mm lens (speaking of which, could somebody tell me a little bit more about 35-100mm lenses?) , but i'd like to get some other lenses for it. preferably a 50 or 35mm so lugging it around won't be such a hassle when i want to use it for casual stuff. i'd really appreciate it if someone could maybe post a list of lenses or brands of lenses that work with the k-mount. thank you!

Pentax makes incredible lenses.

The 35-100 is a good all around use lens - wide angle to portrait. Prime lenses, 50mm, 35mm, etc are a bit sharper because they don't have moveable elements, but 99.9% of the people are never going to know.

Your Ricoh camera is a good camera and there are enough lenses to satisfy your every need in the glass department. The only thing you need to really look for is in the interior of any lenses that you might buy from individuals, pawn shops, etc, and that would be mold.

You can get good glass virtually every time from www.keh.com, it may be a few bucks higher, but it guaranteed quality.

Vivitar is almsot always a good lens as is the Pentax, Richoh lenses and almost every other brand. For casual use, you will not notice a difference any at all. Actually, the 35-100 lens is a perfectly good walk around lens.

The best Pentax K mount lenses are made by..............

PENTAX
...Ricoh lenses are good too, stay away from off brands like Sigma, Spiratone, Panagor, JCPenney etc. unless they are VERY cheap.

You can use any Pentax K lens made since 1976 up to recent AF lenses. You can't use type DA lenses, they are intended for Pentax digital cameras and lack an aperture ring and some may not fill the 35mm frame.

You want to know more about a 35-100 lens? What's there to know, it sounds like a cheap zoom lens that ranges from 35-100 and probably is pretty dim. Don't pay more than $20 for it.

Find lenses for your camera by searching eBay for Pentax K and Ricoh K, also try searching Rikenon (Ricoh's lens brand)

Here's a list of Pentax brand lenses. You could use other brand lenses e.g. Sigma, Tamron etc. as long as they are k mount lenses.
