How big would a minute of 640x480 DIVX video at 30 fps be?

I'm purchasing a SDHC card to go with my new Pentax A30 and am wondering if I should get the 8 GB, 16 GB, or 32 GB card (price is an factor for me). I'll be taking a lot of pictures and video with the camera and would like to make sure I have space for both.

I'm curious to know approximately how much memory DIVX video tends to consume. I know the compressibility depends somewhat on the content, but in general how much memory does a minute's worth use?

Well, it all really depends on what quality you are willing to settle for, as it is the Bitrate that ultimately determines how largea file will be, as the greater the bitrate, the larger the file will be.

Average movies are somewhere around 1500 bitrate, and go between 600 - 900 in MB size-wise, but if you reduce the bitrate while leaving the sound quality and fram size ratios alone, the file could end up between 300 - 500 MB in size without any real change in qualiity.
