Pentax Optio E40: "Battery depleted" message? |
My Pentax Optio E40 keeps giving me a "battery depleted" message and turning off whenever I try to switch it on. I've had the camera for about 2 weeks, and it was working fine, and I haven't dropped it or anything since buying it. I tried to replace the batteries with new ones, wipe the old ones etc, but nothing has worked. I am using 1.5V alkaline AA batteries. Should I switch to rechargeables or could the problem be within the camera? Because the last thing I did was leave the camera on and go out of the room, but it switches off automatically, so I thought nothing of it until it didn't work the next time I tried to switch it on. The last I used the camera, the battery indicator read full. I would use NiMH rechargeable AA batteries (2600 mAh or above). Alkaline batteries do not have enough power for digital cameras and they are not good for the environment. |
