Has anyone used a Pentax K200D? |
I'm going shopping for a new camera in the next few days, and I'm very interested in the K200D. But I can't find any reviews by anyone who has actually used one. Can anyone help? The K200D just came out about a month ago so there probably are not many reviews out on it yet. I have a K10D and other Pentax dSLRs. I love them. I'd suggest going for a K10D or K20D if you can since it has the rechargeable Lithium Ion battery. You can get rechargeable AA's also but they have never seemed to last as long for me. The K10D is no longer made but many stores still have it in stock. I know I saw Ritz still has them. The K10D and K200D are about the same in price and features except the K200D has the AA's and more auto program modes. I have the pentax K10D. Which is a similar camera (K200D has most of the features in a lighter weight camera). It is an excellent camera. I ran a search at Dpreview's Pentax SLR Talk forum and came up up with quite a few hits. A few are probably K200D user first impression threads. |

You sound like a wonderful son,but you should really stop trying to "outdo" your last gifts. Mothers (or at least me) am just happy when they give me a birthday card and wish me a "h... I would use NiMH rechargeable AA batteries (2600 mAh or above). Alkaline batteries do not have enough power for digital cameras and they are not good for the environment. ...Definitely sounds like the LCD display is broken if it looks funny when it's turned off. I've heard of people getting replacement displays for around $50.00 or so and installing them them... Sigma HSM lenses are looking for an electronic focusing camera, The K100D and K110D are still using a mechanical drive shaft. In order to be able to AF a Sigma HSM lens on a pentax body you nee... What's happened is that the gears that move the lens in and out are damaged in some way. This is a warranty repair if the camera hasn't been dropped or abused. If you need the camera... Well, you'll need editing software which can rotate the images, but at a loss of quality. In the future, do not rotate the camera. Try software like Ulead Video Studio, which has a rotate ... There are three things that determine the resolution of a camera ... 1) pixel count, 2) size of the sensor and 3) the analog to digital processing within the camera. Your PC-505 shoots 35mm film...
