Battery Life on a Pentax Optio Z10 Camera?

Hi,

I recently purchased a digital camera by Pentax, it is an Optio Z10. Great camera, awesome zoom (7X optical). The battery looks like a AA incased in plastic. It is a D-L172 rechargeable lithium-ion battery.....anyone know how long this battery should last on a full charge? I can't find any info on it, and during a soccer game I took pictures of the team and the fully charged battery drained down to 1 bar and I didn't take that many pics, didn't have a high resolution (though it is an 8 megapixal I had it down to the 2 or 3rd lowest setting), and I did not use the flash. Just curious if anyone else has this camera/battery and what they've experienced. I love the camera, took great pictures but if the battery doesn't last that long I may take it back to Costco & try to find something else.

The first game it was a little chilly & overcast but not anywhere near freezing. The 3rd game (the next day) it was sunny & warm.

The Optio Z10 takes approximately 180 pictures on a full charge [1] which is below average. If you like it I'd suggest that you either purchase extra batteries for it or practice energy saving techniques (dim or turn off the LCD when not in use, use the flash and zoom conservatively, etc.). If it's not so important, Costco has a 90-day return policy on electronics.

Was it cold? Cold weather shortens the running time of the batteries especially when it is near freezing.
