I have a photo essay project in my darkroom photogrpahy class at rutgers. I'm kind of stuck for an idea. The one idea I do have is a comparison of two towns that I live near. The towns are in NJ, Camden and Moorestown. Camden was voted the most dangerous place to live in USA 2 years in a row. Mooestown is a rich town & was voted the best town to live in by money magazine. I thought about taking pictures of the same same objects or buildings in both towns. For example, a run down home in camden and a beautiful large home in moorestown. What I think is good about this idea is that the towns are completely oppisite but they are only about 10 miles apart. Do u think this is a good idea and fits the category of a photo essay or documentary? Any other suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. i think it sounds like a great idea. especially the public places. also take indoor shots of school rooms, libraries, churches, parks, roads, cars, parking lots, etc and people if you can, maybe from far enough away so they don't see you doing it |
