Whatare some good ideas or images to go with this photo essay?

i'm creating a photo essay for a class. i want the theme to be "strength" represented in many different ways. what are some good images or paintings, even advertisements, cartoons, etc. that depict "strength"?

This is an assignment to see how YOU interpret "strength", not us.

Here is what all my students do.

They take camera in hand and walk around looking at things and when something reminds them of the theme of their essay, they shoot a few (or a roll) shots and then walk some more. Before the head for the darkroom to print we look at their negs and edit picking out the strongest images with the best exposures, so they are not too hard to print.

As with all assignments there are NO wrong subjects as long as they represent how you see strength The other half of the assignment has to do with how you use your technical skills to interpret the images (lens selection and camera position are but two).

I will assume your instructor wants five or six perfectly exposed and printed images with that theme for crit in a few weeks..
