Cant think of a topic for my photo essay..?

i have a photo essay project i have to do for school. my teacher gave little direction so it is very open ended. right now im thinking of taking pictures of all the construction going on around my neighborhood. for the project we also have to have writing about each pic that is more than just a caption. i really want mine to stand out compared to everyone elses. i was also thinking pollution/litter. i'd like to hear other's ideas for possible topics and their thoughts on my ideas. thank you.

When doing projects such as these, it's important to have a theme. The ideas you have are all very good. You may also want to go with a more abstract theme, such as..
-Love (couples, valentine's day, etc.)
-Change (seasons, growing up, etc.)
-Motherhood (women, children, etc.)
If you do pollution/litter, you can take pictures of very clean places in addition to dirtier ones, for comparison.
Good luck on the assignment!

you should take picture of depth objects

The construction idea might work, although it is a little impersonal. If you live in the city, I would consider the homeless or maybe those that give selflessly of their time to help for no pay. People like these are interesting and can communicate much through a photo. You will find others and yourself connecting to your subjects.

If your a country mouse, try the nursing home. Old people tell alot without speaking and welcome any attention and company. My sister is a prof. photographer and is doing this. She loves it.

The pictorialist photographers early last century compared to those using digital editing to make their photos look like paintings today.

I don't know where you live, but here in Florida it is already Little League baseball season. You can get the cutest, funniest pictures of the youngest players (usually tee-ball, ages 5-6).

You can get them batting, fielding, throwing, receiving instruction from the coach, random candids, etc.

Just be sure to ask permission from coaches/parents first.
