As a project, I have to do a photo essay of about 10 prints on a specific theme. What should it be?

I live in NYC. I was thinking about doing something different and creative, but it seems like everything in NYC has been photographed before by one person or another. Any bright ideas?

instead on focusing your project on a too limited subject like foods, birds, buildings, sports, or something, try something different like a certain geometric shape or neighborhood or something. i live in st. louis and one of the projects i did for one of my photography classes was similar to yours and i chose to do it based on cingular's "raising the bar". buildings were the easiest of photograph, but people, nature, and other random things around the city also worked and made it that much more unique. no one in the class had another project like it. all of the photographs were so unique and different from each other but yet each had the same element of the whole "raising the bar" thing. if you don't have the faintest idea what i mean by cingular's "raising the bar" than this will probably be of no help, but its on their commericals of stuff so hopefully you know what i'm talking about.

Ballet
Birds
Wildlife (pick an animal)
Transportation
Fashion
Music
Food

Maybe you could do something like freedom as a theme? Have a look around your busy city and photograph things that represent being free. You could also do similar things with love or other feelings.

Why are so many lazy people looking for someone to do their homework for them.

These kid dont seem able to use their minds or creativity for them selves.

Its pathetic.

how about bad photography. There's quite a bit out there already.

i had a fabulous subject set for me a few months ago by a friend .... proverbs!

light at the end of the tunnel, a picture paints a thousand words (very apt)

there's hundreds of them i had a really good time with it and came up with some really inventive pictures!
