It is an appalling sign of the times that we are still tolerating torture in the world, and that countries such as the United States still encourage it. Torture inflicts humiliation, and abuse upon a person, and can sometimes end in murder. When torturing someone, you are inflicting not only physical, but causing psychological damage. Countries that promote torture privately will deny it in the media, given that torture degrades both its' victims and its' perpetrators, leading to a negative image of the country. When you鈥檙e inflicted in torturing someone you鈥檙e comprised in an act of pain and suffering with the sole purpose of extracting information out of the person. Torture implies intimidation, discrimination, while fostering anger on the part of those who suffer it, and their allies, resulting into more violence and damage. Although torture has proven efficient in times of war to many countries, on the long run it only leads to more violence and prejudice even when the war is over. Torture is a tool which proves effective only for a short period of time. Many are the countries in which torture is encouraged. But when it gets to the time of saying if the country is encouraging torture, they deny the practice of it, since they know it misrepresent the values of thy country. And no country values the promotion of physiological or physical pain that sometimes leads to death, since they know torture is fundamentally bad. When torture takes place, all you get is people who stop functioning for psychological and physical handicap, which will endure long after the conflicts are over. And no one should go through humiliation, suffering, and degradation for the sake of one鈥檚 mind thought. Some people do not believe in those photos taken from prisoners' camps, they don't want to believe those things happen. Those people are wrong because who captures the world's attention to that was Lynndie England. That woman was sent to jail for taking photos of prisoners being abused in Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad. +I bush +I After all, torture is for people who think only in short term, not long term consequences. The word torture does not only apply to physical actions but also to psychological ones. Victims that were torture keep suffering long gone after the war is over. The problem is that they are humiliated and forced to do and say things that they could never conceive doing. Torture in a certain way is not good for countries when proves of it are shown to the media. It is no good because it misrepresents the country, and leads to an appalling image. "When you are inflicting torture on someone you are comprised..." makes better sense. "resulting in more violence and damage." not into. "in the long run" not "on the long run" Look, the content is good but some of your sentence construction and punctuation could use some work. I've shown a few suggestions....Good Luck Sounds good to me, I could not find any thing you need to fix. Good job. |
