Injuries in the Iraq war? |
With advances in medical technology, particularly in the field, men are living with injuries that they never could have survived in previously in other wars. I found this photo essay very poignant and thought I'd share. I worry that our nation will not care for this men in the future as they cared for this country. http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/2007/08... Thoughts? I think it's sad and poignant to see those men. The marine picture is especially haunting. I worry so much about my family who will be serving in Iraq. thats no question Those photos are truly heartbreaking, especially the one with the "studio portrait of a young Illinois couple on their wedding day, titled, Marine Wedding". i am at a loss for words. many mixed emotions. it could have been the lady i worked with and laughed with this morning at work. it could have been me back in 1990/91 if it had gotten super nasty like it did from 2003 onward.....it is one of the guys that left our work a few years ago to serve his country in the guard. all we can do is pray for these people. not only for their health, but their mental health. for continuing support threw their familys and loved ones. for peace for the ones that arent injured visiably but internally in their minds forever....for the kids that have lost a mom or dad. or mom and dad came back but the mom or dad changed..... |
