How to I capture "A Dog's Life" in a picture?

Okay this competition has this topic called A DOGS LIFE. I have to submit 3 pictures as a photo essay. The phrase can be taken metaphorically or literally. Any ideas as to how I can execute it?
Thanks......and if ur from karachi.....u can help me better! =D

Take a picture of an old man napping at the mall (while his wife shops). Kids playing frisbee or ball. A homeless person on a park bench. An obnoxious guy at a strip joint.
pics of dog sleeping eating and playing
A dog,(I love golden retrievers) lying down with his/her master/mistress lying beside him/her with one hand on the tummy and toys scattered about them. (The good life)

A mutt puppy in the rain alone, close up of face and partly of a deserted ally with garbage in it. (The bad life)
In Karachi I am not sure of the relationship between dog and owner or if you have dog pounds. I would see if you could go with the person of your town who picks up stray dogs. Photograph all prior to pick up, than in their cage and at adoption. I state take a picture of all as depending on your time I am sure one would get adopted faster than others.

If you don't have such a system of dog pounds and dog wardens I present you with another idea. The next idea may need some tweaks and some deeper concept to really grab people but the structure is there at least.

Are you limited to three photos? My idea really needs more. My thought would be combing the literal with the metaphorical. I would have shots either stacked or edited into one like split.. One of the dog begging and image below of a man or owner begging in some way, next picture would be the dog indulging in food with the image below of a man over indulging in food and drink. The last shot would be one of dog and owner relaxed and sleeping together. My first two shots in the series could be anything the would represent the traits if dog and a man that lives a dog's life, but the last is most important and will show the two united at the end in hopes of giving a warm and cute feeling and ending.
stay wd a dog 4 a day or so and keep on taking pics at different moments then choose which u feel suits better and have expressions. may be wid dog's own family or owner
follow around a dog for a day and see what it does set up candid cameras and see what the dog does when your not looking, then the next day decide what the dog does the most (besides sleeping) and take a picture of that, or follow a dog around and take a millions pics. ones gotta be could
