Computer won't upload photos?

my computer won't read the memory card or usb cable to upload photos from my camera. It used to work fine before, i would just plug the sd card into the slot and it would automatically import it to the windows photo gallery. now when i plug it in, nothing happens. i tried using the usb cable to connect to the camera and still nothing happens

can anyone tell me how to fix this? thanks

ps. i have a kodak easyshare c743 camera

ahh Ive had this problem before, your gonna want to either reinstall the photo software that came with your camera or try to get a new cable because it might have a de-fect. the other reason i could think of is maybe your usb port is out of date and your camera wants the latest but you said it worked fine before so that probably wont be the cause. any ways try my first suggestion and if that doesn't work call Kodak and ask about the problem if any one kowns what it really is they will.

i think it happened once to me cuz my memory card slot was full of dust. and check if it is compatible?

I am a Mac user, but I have to deal with weird problems with my wife's PC all the time. God I HATE windows machines, but that is another topic. I will have to admit that Windows does have a feature that is the best thing they have ever done in my opinion. SYSTEM RESTORE. Just go back in time to when things were working correctly. I have had to do this a couple of times and it has always got out of oddball problems. Just go to Start- All Programs- Accessories- Tools- System Restore. It is pretty self explanatory after that. Just select a date on the calender that will pop up, and the computer will go back to that date. You do not lose emails and such, but if your uploading was working at the previous date, then it should work again when you go back to it. Just something to try.
