How do I remove a piece of trim from my car (specifically, a scuff plate)? |
I bought some scuff plates for my car because I didn't like looking at bare metal when I opened my car door. After I installed it, I discovered that I had put it in crooked! I'm a real perfectionist, and although nobody else would notice, it bothers me. How can I get those suckers off and reinstall them? I was thinking about buying a trim tool and trying to pry them off that way. I also have some adhesive remover. Any ideas? Thanks a million in advance? Try heating it up first with a hair dryer and gently pry off. They will bend and dimple if you are not careful. If you want to, after you heat it and start prying, use goo gone as you gently pry. use a blow dryer and slowly pry it off starting at end with plastic scaper. |
