HTML Loading Page?

Hi,

I am currently building a website with a photo gallery using HTML & CSS but not Flash. I just want to know how to make a loading page in HTML. This is because otherwise the images take a long time to load and it looks bad. So how can I make a page saying loading... and loading the gallery?

No web site should need such a message. The photos are clearly too large. Display thumbnails to select larger pictures. For dial-up connections, maximum size of HTML and images should be 75 KBytes for a typical minimum loading time of 15 seconds.
