Question to do with editing pictures using 'Paint' on Windows Photo Gallery...?

Ok well im not very good with computers as will probably come across! lol. but ive saved a picture from an email onto my computer and im trying to edit it before saving again. I have opened the picture in windows photo gallery on Vista and cropped the picture down to what I need it to be, which is fine. However I need to add a text box at the top of the picture and can manage to work that out ok. To do this Im using 'paint' and I need to make the text box background a certain colour and the font needs to also be a different colour in order to stand out. Although every time I try and fill in the background it covers over the text and wont let me edit it anymore!
what im trying to say probably makes no sense at all but its really annoying me and i hope someone out there gets what im on about!

Just go to picnik.com and upload your pic there and you can do all sorts of editing right on their website. You don't need to download any software plus its a free service.

I've just tried to do what you did. Opened a picture in paint opened a text box typed a text in yellow and then chose green as a fill colour, chose fill and filled the text box no probs'

Ditch Paint. Go on line and get a free Photo fixer there are loads and very simple to use
