What is the American/Western standard of pretty asian girls? |
In Asia, girls with big round eyes(like westerners), sharp nose, oval face(not too round) are considered to be pretty. Asian people don't like high cheekbones or square jaws. Ex) Ziyi Zhang in Memoirs of Geisha is considered to be pretty in Asia because she has big eyes and an oval-shaped face. But I think some Westerners like asians with high cheekbones and small eyes(non-round eyes with no double eyelids) like Mulan and Lucy Liu. But many Asian people don't think they are pretty. So what is the Western standard of pretty asians? Here are pictures of popular asian actresses that Asian people think are pretty. I live in U.S for almost 20 years, their standard of beauty for asian girls is chinky eye, tan skin, and high cheek bone, a mixture of south eastern asian with Chinese features. Lucy Lu and Kimora Lee is the perfect example of what westerner likes. Which is totally the opposite what true asian people likes. Most Asian women in general are pretty either which way. American dood surfing the Philippines answer page Especially in the USA, because we have so many different sorts of people (and *new* types from intermarriages of different cultures) I think beauty is so subjective there's no way to standardize preferences. The only universally agreed-upon standards seem to be that symmetrical faces are preferred and height/weight *proportionate* bodies are preferred (ex. a 6-ft woman in a size 2 dress is just as wrong as a tiny petite woman with 30 extra pounds) To me it depends on how one carries herself. I think that Li Gong is gorgeous and she does have high cheek bones IMO. All Asian women are beautiful. |
