So apparently Yahoo Photos is ending its service...? |
~Which photo service should I switch to and why? flickr... Photobucket... Snapfish... Shutterfly... or Kodak Gallery... I want one that family and friends can easily save, copy, & print from... and that is simple and easy to use for both them and me... Also... ~Which one do you use, and what do you like and dislike about it... Thank You for your input! Yep, they are shutting it down September 20th. If you want to use Flickr, you don't have to do anything, they'll (Yahoo) will automatically transfer all your pictures there and send you an email stating that they've started and another stating it's done. Personally, I'm sending all of mine over to Photobucket because I've already got a ton of pictures there and can make several different photo albums for different categories. You can also upload videos, make slide shows and do remixes. You only have to right click on a picture to save it or print it, so that's nice and easy. You can also view all of your pictures on one long page, search your albums or search other people's albums. They have 4 "link" options (email & IM, Direct link, HTML Tag and IMG Code), and you only need to click on one of them to have it saved to your clipboard for pasting somewhere else. The only downside that I've found is that while you can upload several pictures at once, you have to add them to the "uploader" one by one. A friend of mine has Shutterfly and seems to like it a lot. I've been to his albums and never had any problems with viewing. I had Kodak Gallery for awhile... unti I received an email saying that if I didn't make a purchase by a certain date that my photos would be deleted. I moved them all back onto my computer and then sent them to Yahoo. I've never used Snapfish, so I can't comment on that one. You will have until September 20, 2007 at 9 p.m. PDT to make a decision about your photos. Of course, we encourage you to decide sooner rather than later, to avoid the last-minute rush. All users who choose to move to another service will be added to the queue for that service. So the sooner you make the decision, the sooner you鈥檒l be have access to your photos at their new home. PHOTOBUCKET you can use a" 1. browser http://photobucket.com/flock 2. photo uploader 3. has a photobar 4. provides links for posing in email or anywhere to make sharing possible 5. I have NEVER had a problem with them and they keep upgrading and getting better after 3 yrs Better service all the way around Now, I do have flickr also , fairly new Can use the same browser http://photobucket.com/flock it is owned by Yahoo photos can be used in 360 - and now i found an article that there are 100 different tools to use http://mashable.com/2007/08/04/flickr-to... ahh SO i SUPPOSE EITHER WILL WORK it will acomplish what I need ! ONE THING THOUGH.. if you have alot of photos it does not take that long to r click and save to the desk top, then you cna use the flock browser and upload then yourself..all of them if they are important,, ya know dont forget to go to " http://giveawayoftheday.com and get your free program |
