With Yahoo Photos going away, what's the best option to transfer to? |
I need to transfer a large number of photos from Yahoo photos to one of the other options (Flickr, Kodak Gallery, Shutterfly, Snapfish, or Photobucket) before the deadline, which is quickly approaching. Are the any pluses or minuses for any of these? I also want to mention I have a Mac, and some of them don't let you order photo albums or calendars if you have a Mac...I know that was the case once when I tried it with Snapfish. Without weeding through all of them, has someone already done the research and can fill me in? I'd appreciate it! J Ok first of all order an archive cd of all of your photos from this company http://www.backupr.com/ They will send you your photos in a zip file via email also, once you get either one of these download your photos back to your computer. Then you can get this http://picasa.google.com/web/mac_tools.h... Its a tool to use with iPhoto. After you have this you can use picasa web albums which is compatible with your Mac. Here is the link to picasa web albums http://picasaweb.google.com/ This what I am using instead of one of the services that yahoo is offering to help us transfer our photos, but I dont use a Mac, even though I would love to have one, lol. Also have heard of many many people loosing all or some of their photos during the migration after they choose a new service. So not a bad idea to order one of those archive cds anyway. You just have to pay for shipping which is $3.99. They are very fast also, I had my cd within 4 days Hope this helps :-)) J. I don't have a mac but I am trying to find the answer to exactly the same question! Not so sure yet about flickr, from looking at it I suspect there may be a charge to use the service in the future?
