Amtrack Hits Bobcat.?

http://postpix.palmbeachpost.com/pages/p...

A bobcat loader operator drove his loader onto the CSX tracks in Florida and was struck by an Amtrack train killing him instantly.
Remember , Never argue right of way with a train.

That is unfortunate for him, I do feel for this guys family but fact of the matter remains, he was someplace he shouldn't have been. I actually feel more for the crew that was on the train.

Most people never seem to think of the individuals that are put into an uncontrollable situation such as this because someone chooses not to be aware of their surroundings or just blatantly ignore warning devices, do they not think it doesn't affect them at all?

I know it does, although I'm sure some are possibly able to better cope with a traumatic event such as this one, more so than others may be able to..

I could believe that he possibly didn't hear it, because of the noise level of the equipment and maybe using hearing protection. But I can't believe he didn't see it coming at him before he tried to cross the tracks.

I fail to see how someone can miss a train coming at them, especially when the lights were flashing before he got there. I love how the article points out the fact that there wasn't any gates at the crossing, should that really matter? The lights were flashing, how many clues did this guy need?

I notice anytime someone gets hit and or killed at a crossing, the media is always quick to point out if there were any lights / lights and gates at a crossing. Like having gates really would have made a difference to this guy? I think he just would have tried to go around them. If people would start paying attention as to where they are and whats in front of them this wouldn't happen, plain and simple.

And as to what Rango stated about the bright individual on the four wheeler with no brakes running into the side of a train, killing himself. Call me a cold hearted b!tch but it's a good thing I wasn't on that jury, there is no way I would have agreed to award a penny for his stupidity. It's called common sense and if you lack having it, that isn't anyones fault but your own.

That's whats wrong with people today, they've been bred to believe that you don't have to take responsibility for your actions.
Sucks to be dead
A similar thing happened here awhile back, guy was on his 4 wheeler, had been working on the brakes and had them disconnected, ran into the SIDE of a moving train and was killed.
His family sued the railroad and WON!!
The railroad was somehow found responsible for this unfortunate accident.
