no, it is true, after the success of flickr Yahoo is closing the photo section, you received the email because you had photos stored and they want to give you an opportunity to move them before they are deleted.

Unfortunately its true, Yahoo is closing their photo site to focus more on Flickr which they own as well. I don't like the idea but there is nothing to be done about it. I've since migrated all my photos over to Googles Phot service....its a lot better than Flickr
