Arm triceps.? |
I should start by saying I'm a girl. I'm beginning to have a problem with my arms lately, particularly the muscle thats located at the top of the arm( near the shoulder) on the INSIDE of your body. I think its called the Triceps Brachii long head muscle http://www.exrx.net/muscles/tricepsbrach... That part of my arm is extremely flabby compared to the rest of my arm. I was wondering if anyone knew how to make it go away or at least make it smaller and less noticeable. I am not overweight so its not as if its huge, I would just like it to be smaller. The best example I can think of would be something like Audrey Hepburn's arms, http://www.audrey1.com/gallery/photo.php... I don't know your size, but the first time I read your question I said...woah. I am in support of toning your triceps, but want to give you this bit of advice. Audrey Hepburn was 5'8, 110 lbs. That is a very tiny frame for a height like that. With that being said, if you would like to begin a toning program for your arms, you need to mix up between full body cardio and light weight lifting. CARDIO can include: walking (with arm weights), oliptical (with arm bars), jogging/running, yoga/pilates (full body), swimming (great one), etc. As far as weight lifting, one more piece of advice (coming from a Phys Ed teacher): If you want to work your triceps, also work your biceps. You don't want your body to not be equal in the front and back so be sure you exercise both. WEIGHT LIFTING: for biceps and triceps see the below link. Remember, stick with it...cardio AND weights...and you will see results in three or so weeks. GOOD LUCK!
