Louisiana vs. Mississippi? |
After Katrina, and even now, I have heard people say that they would rather see the money that we are spending in Iraq go to New Orleans, and rebuilding that area . . . why is it that are not major stories coming from Mississippi? I haven't heard about looting, how they are unable to rebuild - no blame . . . all of that good stuff. Finally - my questions are, why with a Democrat leader and in a Democrat area, aren't these people back on their feet? Biloxi, in Harrison County - voted Republican. Because Louisiana has been bought, paid for and owned by the Democratic Party for generations. They have what they want--power. Do they actually care about the welfare of the people? NO! By contrast, Mississippians had the good fortune and intelligence to have voted in a solid Republican governor, Hailey Barbour. Good on them. Gov. Blanko refused any help from the feds until it was too late. Schoolbus Nagin left his city afloat, refusing to okay the use of schoolbuses until it was too late. I saw videos of those unused schoolbuses sitting there useless, under water. And they have the nerve to blame President Bush!!!!! I have no link for this but I think the common belief is that the politicians in Louisiana are so corrupt that they will never fully recover. Special Olympics time again, huh? Alabama got hit real hard during that storm also. We're back on our feet. Republican state, of course. When they say New Orlands..or Louisiana..it means the places hit by hurrican Katrina. I am not trying to burst any bubbles here but there arent many cities in mississippi[with the acception of biloxi]that are well known. But you are going to have to face it...Bush has screwed up the world with this bloody war..and no matter how many people are against this war..the money will be going strait to the war. NO WHERE ELSE. ANd personally i think that is bull ****..but that is a totally differnt story. "hippielove" <33 -seth- First of all they're all poor people and government officials don't care about poor people. They all claim they do but they lie. Second of all these areas shouldn't be rebuilt. If it's all going to just get annihilated again so it'll be a waste of time, money, and resources. Both political parties are full of liars who don't care about poor people (not saying I do either) but at least I'll admit that I'm an asshole and we shouldn't have totally abandoned both areas immediately and let evolution and natural selection take it's course. To say Republicans care more than Democrats is stupid. Think in terms of abortions. You don't see many rich people getting knocked up and needing an abortion now do you. Who sent us to war... Republicans. Who makes up the majority of the military. Poor people, disadvantaged people, those who are either crazy and want to kill, or saw it as a way out, a way to get money for college or something of that sort. You don't see government officials sons and daughters in the military dying. Neither party cares about the people they care about themselves and when you break it down both the right and the left are two spots that nearly touch on a circle Gov. Barber and the citizens of Mississippi got to work immediately following the storm and began helping each other recover.. did not sit down in the mud and scream that the Government is responsible for us. The Mayor and Governor are why Louisiana and N.O.is not moving on.. |
