R&S, anyone want a little religious cheer this morning? |
I live in DC, and for the better part of a Century (almost 90 years now) there has been a tradition. There is a church called the United House of Prayer for All People on M. Street, which is in Georgetown for anyone who cares. I fully support the idea of praying for everybody, and think that's great. However, every year they have a mass prayer (which I think is great) and a spiritual union of sorts. While I am not mocking it, the question becomes: how holy can a sacrement, a rite, or a ritual be and include the phrase "Baptism by Fire Hose"? As great as it is to pray for everybody, I could not for the life of me stop laughing upon seeing the headline. Just wanted to bring some cheer to R&S this morning http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/pho... Gives a new meaning to "sprinkle or dunk..." Awesome! Thanks for the smile..king didnt like it in selma mississippi fire hose not a good thing for people. Maybe we could start a fire in an office building and do a "baptism by sprinkler system", like in that movie "Constantine"... dang that'll knock the demon out of anyone I think anytime that there is a lot of believing people praying for all people that it is a wonderful thing. You did make me laugh with that little phrase though. You have a good day. This brings up the question of who should you fellowship with, and what does it do when you fellowship with other faiths. I think Christians should encourage Christian unity, but not "religious unity". |
