Which Content Management Service and which web hosting service should I use? |
My goal is to host my personal webdesign portfolio. I need to have this features: a blog, a CMS to help me organize the content (I can read some code but I'm not a programmer), a photo gallery, RSS feeds. I need a CMS (open source) and host (budget= $10/month) that are easy to use and have a lot of features. Please give me the names and tell me why they are better than others. Thanks! To host your site for free, I would highly recommend the following 2 sites. Awardspace -> http://www.awardspace.com (PHP + MySQL) 50webs -> http://www.50webs.com Both of these sites allow you to host for free and does not have any advertisement pop ups like those provided by geocities. I have sites hosted on both the companies. Example Awardspace -> http://www.wanginternet.com 50webs -> http://cctvcamera.50webs.com Also, read a review I wrote on Awardspace at http://www.wanginternet.com As for CMS, go for either Wordpress or Mambo. WangInternet.com is on Wordpress and I love it. It's easy to set up and it's easy to use.
