Need Help Identifying Depression Glass? |
I inherited some depression glass from my grandmother. I know nothing about depression glass. I've tried searching on the internet for the ones that I have, but have had no luck. Is there a place online that has an encyclopedia of patterns and types of depression glass? I have an online photo gallery of the items that I have in case anyone can identify these for me. http://www.tshirtsnmorestore.com/depress... Sorry to break it to you, but while depression glass is highly collectible, the prices for MOST pieces are really quite modest. Go to Borders or Barnes & Noble and go to the collectible/antiques/hobby section. There is a price guide for depression glass. Keep in mind that you typically only get 1/3 to 1/2 of the value when selling a piece (unless you run a depression glass store, which it sounds like you do not) the pink with the roses is rose of Sharon the gold on top I am not sure of the green does not look like depression glass the gold in the bottom pictures looks try this web site http://www.geneflorence.com/ke carnival glass look in the phone book and find an appraiser to come out and see what you have. They usually do this at no charge to you since they are looking to buy it off you anyway. So don't sell it and mark up what every they say by 50%. Check out this website. They have extensive resources on glass....... www.cmog.org Its beautiful and looks in very good condition,if it were mine I'd keep and enjoy I think some of it may be somewhat rare. The pink plates are "Rose of Sharon".the other looks like sanwich glass, not depression glass, the dr.pink looked like fedral design but am not sure. Not much help Enjoy!! |
