Why did a photographer get credit for this shot? It must have been taken by the stadium's camera, not his? |
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multime... the camera must have been installed by the team or the stadium to catch a shot like that (in the net) so why would one photographer get the credit for it. It would not be unusual for a camera to be remotely triggered like this at a professional sports event in an arena, especially ice hockey. The photographer wouldn't have to have had a video feed and was probably taking the shot either off of instinct or, more likely, burst mode. The photo could have been transmitted to a capture device via wifi. According to the credit he is a Getty photographer which puts him in an elite group. According to the Professional Photographers of America, he / she who presses the button on the camera created the shot and thus gets credit, thus owns the copyright of the image. It looks like a remote camera setup... but one guy could own all the equip or be responsible for taking all the images. If he took it he should get his byline. The reason he got credit is because he took the photo. Let me ask you this why didnt the company that made the hockey puck get credit for getting that point......I think the player did ..hummmmm |
