Sports Illustrated's top all time athletes at each number? |
Has anybody seen this. Some major flaws I don't know about: picking warren moon over oscar robertson or pee wee reese tougher, but I would have gone Lou Gehrig over Bobby orr John Elway over Micky Mantle is beyond me A little early for lebron james to be runner up (2nd best) I would have picked wade boggs over ron woodson Magic Johnson was picked in a very tough number category. His competition was Worthy of consideration: Marcus Allen, Steve Carlton, Julius Erving (ABA's Nets), Franco Harris, Sandy Koufax, Karl Malone, Shaquille O'Neal (Heat), O.J. Simpson, Bill Walton. I would have gone for Dr. J (perhaps sentimental reasons), but I can certainly live with Magic at that number Phil Niekro seems a little weak at no. 35. I would have picked either Tony Esposito Doak Walker over Casey Stengel seems weak. Anyway.....what do you think http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multime... I would have a hard time putting Terry Sawchuk, possibly the best goalie to ever play, behind Warren Moon, as well as Oscar Robertson. I think it would have to be 1a, 1b, and 1c. If I had to choose the best defenseman ever or a hall of fame iron man, I'm choosing the best defenseman ever. Sorry dude. Damn, a lot of good 7's considered. Could have gone any way with that number. I think they made a good decision. Okay, I know Williams was a great hitter but Gordie Howe was the best hockey player ever. At that point, I would say "**** baseball! I'm going with Mr. Hockey." Terry Bradshaw is not a runner-up. He's a champ who deserves the No. 12, not Tom Brady who still has half a career left. Poor Stevie Y had to contend with Johnny Unitas. If he had any other number he would have made the list. I'd definately put Ryne Sandberg in front of Lebron James. I agree with Wade Boggs over Rod Woodson. Would have went with Rickey Henderson at 35. Dominik Hasek should have been No. 39. You could argue for Ray Bourque at 77. Sidney Crosby is good but not good enough to consider consideration. Ditka is god. (Da Bears) |
