Why do these artifacts of Egyptians look like black Africans and not white Europeans? |

What is the big shock? This is because the Egyptian empire and the Nubian(Kush) civilization became trading partners early on in Egyptian history as early as the first dynasty, please see the link for more information. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/kush... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/nubian_pyra... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/list_of_kus... but they don't look like black africans because the black african race has very characteristic figure in face bones,lips,coarse hair..very dark brown skin... the artifacts & statues don't show this.. there is difference between nations of north africa(where the ancient egyptians existed) & the southern africa in which the black race predominates. there seems to be an onslaught of questions regarding ancient egyptian ethnic characteristics. these individuals were not black, though they may have had some negroid gentics in them. they were north african hamitic peoples. the egyptians; in their paintings and artwork, were very careful to distinguish themselves from peoples off black and asiatic descent. why are so many trying to call Egyptians black all of a sudden? when all u have to do is is look at the art that they left behind they were a bronze color or a brass they would have looked Arab as you can see here http://historylink101.net/egypt_1/rf-k-e... there were other great kingdoms that were black like the Nubian's and the Ethiopian kingdom Gee, could it be that Egypt is in Africa and not Europe? Hmmm. Yes Ryan you're right. Egyptians were "Blacks" but they have more in common genetically with Africans that they do with Europeans. There is an Asian influence there as well. Not surprising really given the history of the area. |
