Why can't I view dvd's with Windows media player? |
Whenever I put dvd's of any type into my computer like movies and stuff, to play with Windows media player, I get this window that pops up with the name Windows Installer, and it keeps saying 'please wait until windows configures photo gallery! The it says gathering information, then goes onto saying insert disk for photo gallery. I don't know what to do at this stage, hence I cannot watch any movies although I can hear the sound of the movie most of the time. it is extremely frustrating so please help. thanks Dont know about the photo gallery thing but you probably dont have any DVD codecs installed. Do a search for VLC media player and download this. Its free and will play DVDs. I havent found anything it cant play. Do you have an HP printer? I get that message occassionaly and I have to reinstall HP Director. I'm not sure why the printer causes this but it gives me the exact same message. I've also had similar problems with codec files missing but only had that exact same message you have when there was an HP Director problem. Do you have a DVD-ROM? I was getting that exact same thing, until I realized that I don't have a DVD-ROM. |
