What causes excessively long upload times to the photo galleries on Yahoo! Groups from time to time? With most broadband connections upload times are much slower than downloads. My service has 1.5 mb downloads but only 384 k uploads. It depends on the resolution and size of the image you are uploading. Images should not be higher than 72 dpi and be around 6 x 8 inches in size in order to upload efficiently. It also depends of the bandwidth you have. If you are on a cable modem, it will slow down according to how many other people are in your pod and are on line. Depends on what format it is saved in. If you are using software like fireworks, then this saves the file as a .FND by default. Ensure that the pictures you are uploading have been saved as JPEG files as this make the file smaller and quicker to upload Experience Could be your file (picture) is too big sometimes. You might want to resize them in Paint Shop Pro....or a similar program. That would get them uploaded a little faster! |
