Photography included in other majors?

I love photography! I want to go into something that involves that with something else, like computers.

What schools have good photography courses and what else can I do with it?

I'm NOT going to community college.
I'm a straight A student in classes that are two years ahead of everyone else.
I don't know. I would rather go somewhere with prestige.

"There's not much you can do with photography..." Doesn't that seem like an odd comment when so many people write questions like "what can I do with a degree in ancient history" -- one would expect that a person with a degree in photography might become - oh I don't know, maybe a photographer...

That said, you can use the skills of a good photographer in any number of fields. Graphic design, advertising, studio, journalism - of course. There are photographers involved in all of the sciences too - someone has to take photos of that phytoplankton.

We usually don't get a vocation specific degree with the intent of doing something else with it. We wouldn't get a degree in biology hoping to become a musician for example. You get a degree in photography because you love the art and want to immerse yourself into it for several years of study. If you're all about making big bucks - I understand that engineering is where the money is.

Savannah College of Art and Design and Academy of Art University (San Francisco) are really good photography schools.

theres not much you can do with photography, but just google, 'photography universities'

:)

The Hallmark Institute of Photography I heard is top-of-the line, and Canon has a school I think

I took photography classes when I majored in graphic design. It's a really good combination. An art school, such as the Art Institute in Chicago or the Academy of Art, would both be good for photography and graphic design.

go to school for something that is solid. Learn photography as a hobby or from an online training company. It's easy to do and trust me you could go to school, like $60K a year type schools or your local community college, but why not have an expert teach you essential tips and practice practice and practice!
