What parts of my photography should I focus on improving?

I'd like some suggestions on what parts of my photography I should focus on improving.

I can't take any photography classes yet, (since I'm only 16 and my high school isn't offering any photography courses) so I'd appreciate any honest opinions on my photos.

Thanks in advance.

16 holy **** I'm jealous, well the photos are great nothing much to criticize on, so the next thing to do would be to find something harder to photograph, all the pictures are great but they are all very similar, try to get out there and get something new.

I think you should work on content. The images are just kind of boring...maybe some inspiration might help. This guy is the best photographer ever. http://www.noahkalina.com

You seem to have decent technical skills, even though you aren't getting a deep depth of field in many of your shots (try a higher apperture setting and lower shutter speeds).

hmm
these are great!
but go out and try new things!
for example:

this guy takes lots of outdoor pictures of landscapes and whatnot.
try that!
i dont know, im not much of a photographer but youre greatt!

I think you're off to a great start, my friend.

There are great forums, contests, clubs that I think you will thoroughly enjoy and learn a lot from at betterphoto.com. Not to mention get inspiration from. Membership and entering these areas is free!

They also have some awesome classes, but there are fees for those. If this is truly the direction you want to go. the investment is well worth it and the knowledge you gain can be tremendous! Online classes are for those that are really motivated. You have to want the knowledge enough to thoroughly study over the material and participate in the exercises and online discussions. If you are that kind of person, I say go for it NOW and get a jump start on a rewarding career!!

Good LUCK!!! It looks like you've got what it TAKES!!! ; )

I think those are great :)
But I have to say, some of them lack an interesting composition.

I agree with working on the content of your images. Your images look like you took them on a Holga or lomography camera. I know that style isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I personally love it! You're off to a great start, just look for new and creative things to photograph!

Very nice shots, you have a good eye for subject and light. Everything will improve with time also. The major piece of advice i could give is to develop a story or theme. Pick a subject, say books for example, and shoot around that. You will end up with cohesive images and it will focus and push you to improve. Keep at it, you have talent.

If your school does not offer photography courses then perhaps consider taking some general art courses, especially anything with an emphasis in art history. If you dont have art or art history at your school then if you have itunes go to the podcasts section and download the series on the history of photography. Learn about where photography has been, who are the major artists, learn about where the field is headed and with this knowledge start thinking critically about your own image making. I will tell you that you have a good sense of light, very emotional. However, your choice of some of your subject matter is a bit too cliche and has a Hallmark feel to it. On the other hand if you want to become a greeting card photographer you are certainly on the right path, with your photos of cats and flowers but if this is not your goal then perhaps spend more time at the museum and consider looking at some of the more respectable photography publications like PDN, Lenswork, or Black and white magazine. Anyhow at 16 you are still young, and I can see that you have a lot of potential.

They're technically pretty cool.

Apply your abilities to more interesting subjects.

Also explore ways to make your compositions more dynamic.
