College suggestions? |
I am a little on the young side to be thinking of colleges, but I still want to be ready so I can chose appropriate courses. I need some help. I really enjoy photography! Other interests of mine are working on computers to create slideshows, dvds, etc, i enjoy playing my flute, organizing things, playing w/ my puppy(lol), swimming, reading(French Classics i like!) and more. Things to do on campus would be nice, location not a priority, and that's bout it There may be college course opportunities for students your age that are sponsored by the state or county. I'm in a program that allows me to take math and English courses at a local community college in place of math/Eng. at my high school. Students in this program become familiar with a college class setting and work load, not to mention the college credits. There's also something called Governor's School, a one-week program at the University of DE that places students in a college setting. It offers academic, art, drama, and music curricula. You might find that your state offers similar opportunities (especially if it's bigger than Delaware ^_~ ). If so, you'll be able to explore your interests in an actual college setting and meet people with similar interests. If you have some time to kill, you could do a college search on collegeboard.com. Their engine lets you choose majors, clubs, location, etc. Check out some of the liberal arts colleges in your region. If they're too expensive, then a comprehensive state university is going to have all of the things you listed and a lot more for you to explore as your interests develop. Good for you to be thinking ahead. whatever college you go, just make sure that they have things that attracts your interest like the things that you listed. i suggest you join a club that shares your interest |
