But here goes. Make sure the course teaches you about lighting and how to use manual settings. You need to know about aperture and shutter speed first and foremost. The course should teach you how to use a manual SLR camera. Try the New York Institute of photography. They offer an "at home" course, where they set you up with your own advisor and have you send them images you taken for advice on whether or not you can improve the image or not. Well worth the cost with an accredited graduate diploma and all. They offer a payment plan and give you three years to complete the course. I know they offer both film and digital courses.
