Best TAFE photography course? |
I want to study photography, but am confused by which course i should choose. My style is more photojounalistic, i dont like posed photos. Which of the following would be the wisest choice for me? -photoimaging -Photography diploma -Fine Arts diploma If anyone has studied any of the previous, can you please tell me what its like? Thankyou! I took an online course and received a Photography certificate. The course covered everything from beginning to advanced photography, the business of photography, portfolio, lighting techniques, advertising, etc... Before I took this cousre, I had high school photography under my belt and a variety of art courses. If you want to improve your skills and learn the basics and have a piece of paper at the end of it all that proves you have done some schooling, then take a course. Buy photography magazines and scour the articles...be a sponge. Some art background is helpful when it comes to colours and how light effects composition, lines and shape, but this will all be covered in a full photography program. I don't think a Fine Arts diploma will go as in depth with photography as you would like if you are actually planning on doing this as a career. Photoimaging is always helpful with the digital being so prevelant in today's photography, but agian, this will be covered in a complete course. Look at many and choose the one that is tight for your skill level. Some online courses can be found at www.betterphoto.com Check out ICS Canada for full programs, or PCDI has another great online course. Hope this helps! |
