Good photography courses? |
Anyone know any good photography courses around Brisbane that don't cost too much and you can do part time? unless you dont know a thing about Photography and have never taken a photo, a school wont teach you much. Esp as a hobbiest. If you want a career in photography, thas a different story.. a school will not only show you how to photograph but will also (should also) show you how to work th ebusiness end of becoming a successful photography business owner. As for learning general photography, there are tons of courses on the net, theres the New York Institute of Photography and lots and lots of forums and sites with about as much info as one can stand to learn. If you have a camera now, try to find an online forum or a couple on line forums, specifically for the brand you own.. this way you can ask questions pertaining to the certain camera and get answeres from others who own the same one. Then, join a couple general photography forums like betterphoto.com or Fred Miranda.. this way you can get general to advanced info from beginners and pros alike. good luck! I'm not familiar with that area, but there are some good online course at www.betterphoto.com I disagree with the statement schools don't teach you much. The right school with the right class can teach you great things. I do have a degree in photography and the school served me well. I don't work as a full time photographer by choice, but do it on the side as a hobby as much as I wish. Also check out www. pwsbooks.com. It seems to be a great series of books. I have been working through them as a brush up on my skills. I was in a major car wreck over a year and a half ago and haven't been able to do much photography so these books have kept me from going crazy during that time. I don't know that area specifically but there are numerous courses online. Many free and many at a cost. The new York institute of Photography and www.betterphoto.com are two major ones. There is also information on a variety of topics at http://photography.about.com. You can also do a quick Yahoo or Google search for "how to photography" or "photography lessons" and find many good articles and classes. Good Luck, Liz |
