Is there a printer for under $1000 that prints up to 14" x 20" high photo-quality prints using photo paper |
I am interested in taking up photography and framing/matting as a new hobby. Over the next 6 months I will be purchasing equipment to outfit an in-house photographic printing and framing studio. Well, first of all, unless I have overlooked it, 14x20 is not a standard size for cut sheet paper... There is 'Super B' size, which is 13x19". There are many printers on the market today that support that size. An excellent choice is the latest generation Epson Stylus Photo R2400 for around $850. It prints 13x19 full bleed and offers quality that will stand up to the level your business needs. Also is rated as archival up to 200 years when using the Epson k3 inks and certain papers. It can also use roll paper and print up to 13x44". The other advantage of the k3 inks is that you can print truly neutral black and whites... Previously, this was a task that typically meant you had to convert your printer to a dedicated BW system using third party inks... No more. No way, not for that cheap. |
