How does one break into doing still photography for feature films, and what kind of equipment is necessary? Anyone know?
You have to have a good 35mm (today digital 35) camera; show your work around people who do movies and be able to deliver prints or CD to the photography director, same day of shooting (it is easier with comp.nowdays)
You can not use flash so you have to measure the light of the scene to shoot and using the same perspective as the movie camera; once the Director shuts "cut" you have to record the scene, saying where the things are placed from the perspective point of view, because if the scene will continue next time (next day, week, even a month) there will be a reference point to it.
Many times watching a movie, I spot mistakes so easy to spot like the other day a vase with flower suddenly change the type of flowers like magic. |
