My question is has anyone else had a friend who competed with them about EVERYTHING? |
I was good friends with this gal and we had a lot in common. But she always made me feel bad somehow, she was always trying to 'outdo' me or compete with me, and it took me awhile to catch on. I was in community college classes, so then she started going. I was into photography so she had her husband buy her darkroom equipment. Even down to things like prayer! I'd ask her to pray for me and she'd say, "Well you can ask, but I don't know if I really will." Then she went to a different church with another friend, called me up and said that she had prayed for me, "so now we're even''. She said she was jealous of my relationship with my mom and crashed our party plans, then acted aloof the entire time. In emails she would misunderstand me always and overreact, so I finally asked her for a book back and that ended the friendship. A few months later she emailed me and said she had gone to group therapy and realized that "You have had something against me." I could go on. Anyone relate? yes, these peoples are called friendly rivals--however she is more of a rival than a friend. she believes that competing is the only way that she can do her best. there's nuthin wrong with that, just her personality. Not Really. SSS! No i haven't had that happen to me but she sounds like a really crap friend so i wouldn't worry about her Yes Yes Yes and u feel you should known because how can a friend compete with u and not be happy for you when u accomplish something in your life and yeah its just a mental thing i guess so they can feel better about their self's me and that person are definitely not "friends" anymore yea, she was actually my BFF. we competed in looks and so on. but then i was like what the hell am i waisting my time for. now were not close anymore and she found the people who love to compete and burn each other |
