What is the best lighting equipment to buy for a amateur glam photographer?

something less than 1,000 dollars and what type should I buy cuz there is like a million different lightings to choose from but I just need light for glam photography. Help please..

You will need very soft lighting, so get mono lights and softboxes, and get the highest wattage system you can afford. You definitely don't want hot incandescent lights for glamour photography...

You will need several lights, at least two fairly powerful ones for main light and one or more fill lights, and two that can be lower power for background light and a hair light. You will eventually want to build up to at least 6 or 7 lights to give you the ability to really control your lighting setups, but you can add lights as your income allows.

You will also need light stands and supports for fill reflectors, and white and black foam board for reflectors/absorbers.

Enjoy, glamour photography is fun! Source(s): Camera Club Educational Coordinator

For starters, a pair of Alien Bees lights with medium to large Softboxes attached.
