I am listing a high-speed camera lens on Ebay. What info would interest potential bidders? see details?


I have no experience with photography equipment. The case is in perfect condition. On the lens, it says, "Sigma high-speed zoom....multi-coated 1:3.5 f=80-200mm....215565 lens made in Japan...other numbers in green, the words macro and reproduction ratio.......for Nikon". There's lines and symbols.I did a search of Sigma and found a site with info on different size lenses. The closest to this was 80-400mm.I don't need to know what these numbers mean, just which info is important? Thank you.

The key markings on a lens for 35mm cameras or most film cameras for that matter would be the manufacturer and the focal length. In your case the maker of the lens seems to be "Signma" and the focal length is 80-200 which makes it a "telephoto" or "zoom" lens. This is a fairly standard lens that is desired by many photogs.

Of course, with digital cameras now becoming so inexpensive, it is harder to sell traditional photography parts and accessories. When I bought a telephoto lens for my 35mm camera 15 years ago it cost me $399 for just the lens...now I can buy a digital camera with way better optics for even less.

Still...a lens in good shape will be worth something to somebody. Good luck with your lens!

To answer the question, you could probably sell it using the info: Sigma camera lens, 80-200 telephoto, fits Nikon or similar camera body.
I would list every bit of info you can find. Even if you think it's not important... Also look at others listed to see what they say to compare.And take a great photo it's also worth a thousand words.. Good-Luck
List as much as you can find on the lens. If you have a digital camera, take and post a close up picture of the lens. And start them up with a low price. That would interest a bidder fast.
