Difficulty of photography lighting equipment? |
I am considering purchasing 2 side softboxes and a 3rd softbox on a boom, as well as some backdrops on ebay. I was wondering, though, I do not have experience with lighting equipment. Is it very difficult to learn how to use? Are there a bunch of settings that you have to be familiar with? Lighting tutorials: http://www.net-art.it/photomonitor/html/... With studio photography your main setting on your camera is your aperture, the rest is flash to subject distance and your flash settings example full power, half power etc.. I would recommend buying a flash Minolta flash meter and a book on how to do studio flash photography. It looks like you have a good start on a studio. To learn more about lighting subjects (including models) take a look at amazon dot com for books on studio lighting. I shoot a lot of glamour and nudes, so I have purchased books that show how to light them, but I am sure you can find some that will help you set up your lighting to shoot products as well.
