Degree in Photography questions?

I am still in high school and thinking I would like to get a degree in photography. What photography jobs could I do with this degree? I'd like to get into this kind of photography.

Those pictures are so cool. If I were you, I'd start by doing something like offering to take personal photos of friends in that style that you like, and offer to take photos for bands in your area for free and start building a portfolio. Maybe the next step could be a small magazine, then a larger one. I'm sure you'll get more advice as you get into it. Sky's the limit! Best of luck to you-- I love photography as well :-)

most work freelance, and its alot of marketing and paperwork, some image making, others work for newspapers or the like, some own studios.

a degree is no garentee, however it will ground you well in technique and all aspects of image making, during that time you will develop a style and from there you will go forth.......

You have some potential, show your portfolio around to ad agencies.

My suggestion: go to a good university and get a well-rounded Liberal Arts education. Do a minor in Photography.

My point is: so many people these days are going to school in order to get a job, when the real purpose of "higher education" should be to become a well-rounded human being.

An educated person is not just someone who has training in a specific discipline.

And with a good general education you'll have a much greater appreciation for and understanding of the things that matter in your life, and therefore the kinds of photography you will want to pursue.
