PHOTOGRAPHY places, help?

im looking at applying for a job in a large studio such as LifeTouch or something similar to that.

do you know of any? such as photographers that go into schools? or people who do phototshoots for events?

or something with horses. like tracks or shows.

LifeTouch and other school photographers usually hire photographers on a seasonal basis as most school photography is done between June and September. By contacting them now, you will be able to establish yourself in a timely manner.

p.s. School "photographers" (as well as Sears and KidsPics, etc.) use a standard lighting, posing and equipment set-up to maintain consistency and reliability. Creativity is not part of their model, so if you are hoping to promote your photographic style, don't go to them. The pay is not "life sustaining" and usually the jobs are taken by women who work part time from home to supplement their income.

In most large cities there are a few "event" promoters. Find them and make an appointment. You may have to shoot a "spec" assignment for them to show what you can do, but if they do hire you, expect to do a lot of night and weekend work. You will need at a minimum a pro level DSLR, a medium zoom lens (like a 24-85mm f/2.8) and a dedicated flash for the camera.

'Picture This' is another one I can think of, Olan Mills may do that too. Ask a local school board who they use.
Most of these companies are only interested in your work history and dedication to get the job done. They will train you if they like you.
Events and horses are usually done by local photographers/companies unless they are national events. You are entering into the area of sports photography with horse events, other than horse shows, which requires special skills. And, with horse shows you need to be a skilled portrait photographer.
